With no bracing the deformation is slightly higher than the wire bracing. With the wire bracing the deformation to the whole structure is too high. With the pinned beam the model shows it takes compression, this is wrong. I've made 4 models of various different bracings and none of them make sense. Speaking to one lecturers he suggested modelling the wire bracing as a pinned-pinned beam with a solid section of 10mm diameter. This information has not been given to me so I need to make some safe assumptions, but I'm not sure if this is the right method. Through searching through somethings previously I came to the conclusion of using a tension only element, the problem being that I then have to choose the unrestrained length, horizontal or pre tensions options. I was not aware MIDAS user area, I'll have a look now. I've been through some videos on youtube, but I could not find anything helpful to modeling wire specifically.
